We came back from Munich with one simple idea.
That Accra deserved a detail shop where a Range Rover gets the same care as a Picanto. Three years later, three branches, one standard. This is how we got here.
“The first car my dad asked me to wash was a 1996 Mercedes 190E. I scratched it with the wrong sponge. He didn't say anything — he just stopped letting me wash the car. That's the moment Glänzen actually started.”
Twenty years later, I spent eighteen months working with a specialty detail studio in Munich — the kind that ceramic-coats Bentleys for clients who fly in from Saudi to drop the keys off. I watched the obsession with technique. Two-bucket washes. IPA wipe-downs before coat. Photo records of every panel before the customer sees the car again.
I came home in 2024 wanting one thing: an Accra detail shop where the standard didn't slip when nobody was looking. Where the cashier and the technician used the same checklist. Where the customer got photos on their phone — not because we were showing off, but because that's how trust works in a market that's been burned by shortcuts.
Our first wash was at Labone in September 2024. A Honda CR-V. Routine express. The customer came back two days later — not because something was wrong, but because she wanted to see if the staff would treat her the same way without me watching. They did. That's when I knew we had a chance.
Today we run three branches. Same training, same checklists, same photo records on every job. Every detailer is full-time. Every customer gets their car back better than they brought it — or we redo it free. That's the deal.
Three years of receipts.
The people who do the work.
Adwoa Mensah
Hospitality manager before Glänzen. Five years at Mövenpick. Runs Labone like a hotel front desk.
Kwame Owusu
Twelve years on the spanner before he picked up the polisher. Knows every car that comes through.
Ama Darko
Came up through the bays. Started as a Saturday tech, runs the fleet-heaviest branch.
Akosua Boateng
Signs off every Maison-tier job. The reason our QC pass rate is what it is.
